Short Version
Hey! Welcome to my personal finance and travel blog! Of all the things you could be doing to waste your time I appreciate you stopping by to learn about me.
I’m Jake, an almost 30 year old elementary school Speech Language Pathologist living in the southwest United States. In a 5 year time period I will have paid off 90k in debt (if you include interest), gone from living in a basement with Craigslist randos to owning more than 5 housing units (I have 5 right now), and will have been to 3 continents for extensive backpacking trips (Asia in summer of 2019).
Personal finance and travel may sound like an odd pairing. Like, a Wendy’s frosty and french fries, pizza with ranch, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow. But, growing up I quickly learned the value of both and remain passionate about them.
I’m constantly scheming up ways to become financially independent and travel the world. I can’t wait to share what I learn with you and hopefully pick up some new tips from you along the way!
If you are still chomping at the bit to know more about me, you can learn more by reading about my full financial journey in the long version.
